Preeti Pawani is the founder of The Mud House Studio. Initially meant as a home where everyone can ‘play with clay’, her love for clay led her to a deeper calling: to address a mounting need for a non-intimidating and enriching environment where people are not afraid to make mistakes while learning and expressing their creativity. It’s this idea of being nonjudgmental, enriching & rooted which is central to Preeti and the brand's philosophy.
At the Mud House Studio you’re not just a customer to us. You’re a member of a close-knit, and supportive family of ‘Clayers’ who share a belief that thoughtfully designed ceramics not only stand the test of time, but also stand up for the environment.

The Mud House Studio logo is inspired by the five basic elements - Earth, Water, Air, Fire & Space - that all come together in perfect harmony in nature. It's these same elements which are essential in the process of making ceramics. The Earth as clay is shaped by Water and smothered by Air to allow its shape to take form, while Fire solidifies that form in the Space that surrounds us.
It's this harmonious relationship between the elements that create a healthy, ecological balance in nature and similarly, need to be in sync to create a balanced piece of ceramic.
Thus, our logo is in respect and honor of the elements that we tend to take for granted and a gentle reminder of our connection & dependence to nature. Without it, we wouldn't have the elements to produce pottery.
